Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 28, 2026
MaterialCalc ("we", "us", "the Site") operates materialcalchome.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we do and do not collect, how the Site is delivered, and your basic rights regarding personal information.
What MaterialCalc Does Not Collect
MaterialCalc calculators run entirely in your browser. The values you enter into a calculator (such as length, width, thickness, price, and waste factor) are never sent to our servers, never saved to a database, and never associated with an account. MaterialCalc does not require you to register or sign in.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their independent marketing use.
Server Logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may keep short-lived edge logs containing your IP address, the requested URL, the timestamp, your user agent string, and basic request metadata. These logs are used for operational diagnostics, security, and abuse prevention. We do not link these logs to a personal identity, and we do not sell or share them.
Cookies and Local Storage
MaterialCalc currently does not set tracking cookies and does not store personal information in your browser's local storage. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for security purposes (for example, bot challenge tokens).
If we add analytics or advertising in the future, this section will be updated to list the tools used, the data they collect, and how to opt out.
Third-Party Services
The Site is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare's privacy practices are documented in their own privacy policy. If embedded third-party content (such as a YouTube video or social media widget) is added in the future, those third parties will operate under their own privacy policies.
Your Privacy Rights (GDPR and CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws including the EU/EEA/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These rights typically include:
- Access: knowing what personal data, if any, is held about you.
- Correction: asking us to correct inaccurate information about you.
- Deletion: requesting deletion of personal data we hold about you.
- Opt-out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, but you may still submit an opt-out request to confirm this.
Because MaterialCalc does not collect personal data through calculator use, most requests will only be able to address server log information that can be tied to a specific IP address and time window. To exercise a right, email contact@materialcalchome.com.
Children's Privacy
MaterialCalc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, please email us and we will promptly delete it.
Security
We use commercially reasonable means to protect the integrity of the Site. The Site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage on the Internet is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Site evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated Policy.
